
Quetta (Web Desk) A seminar focused on the welfare and economic empowerment of women in Balochistan was jointly organized by the Government of Balochistan and Paigham Pakistan. The event witnessed strong participation from women, reaffirming that they are actively engaged and well aware of the socio-economic challenges ahead.
Key dignitaries present included Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Speaker of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly; Ghazala Gola, Deputy Speaker; Federal Ministers Imran Ahmed Shah and Wajiha Qamar; Saeeda Atta, Secretary of the Women Development Department; Nadir Gul Badich, CEO of PPAF; and Dr. Abdul Rahman Khan, Project Director of PPAF.
In his address, Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai emphasized that women in Balochistan are fully aware of their rights and highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to economically empower them. He pointed out that Islam strongly advocates for women’s rights and status, a unique example that Balochistan is proud to reflect. Other speakers also stressed the importance of women’s economic activities and expressed confidence that the government’s welfare initiatives will bring lasting benefits and accelerate the province’s development.
In a related event, Provincial Minister for Education, Ms. Raheela Hamid Khan Durani, addressed a ceremony at Government Girls Degree College concerning the distribution of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto District Topper Scholarship. She affirmed the government’s commitment to resolving education sector challenges by mobilizing all available resources at the provincial level. Over 180 top-performing students from remote areas received scholarships of three lakh rupees each, aiming to support their education and encourage academic excellence. Ms. Durani emphasized that education is the cornerstone of progress and development, and the government has launched several programs, including the Prime Minister’s Danish School initiative, to improve education quality and access. The event concluded with Secretary Higher Education and Colleges, Saleh Muhammad Baloch, presenting a shield to the Provincial Minister for her efforts.
These initiatives reflect Balochistan’s dedication to empowering its female population and advancing educational standards, paving the way for sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
