Press Release:
Ziarat (PR) – Under the chairmanship of Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai, Central Secretary of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, a public jirga was conducted in Ziarat district. Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the Pashtun nation is facing a critical phase of division. The jirga aims to bridge gaps created by tribal, political, and social divisions by providing a platform for open dialogue, discussion, and constructive criticism to safeguard the land, minerals, forests, and heritage of Pashtunkhwa.

He warned that powerful forces seek to exploit and divide Pashtun resources, even harboring genocidal intentions. Nawab Ayaz Khan urged unity, brotherhood, and collective decision-making to counter these threats. Highlighting national failures, he criticized government deals that jeopardize Pashtun lands and resources, lamenting the burden of foreign debt and corruption that have hindered regional development.

Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai announced the continuation of jirgas across Pashtunkhwa districts to ensure inclusive decision-making and self-reliance in resolving local issues, emphasizing the declining public trust in official courts. He called on leaders to uphold democratic politics despite the challenges ahead.

The jirga featured speeches from leaders of various political parties, tribal elders, clerics, and representatives from all walks of life. A Quranic recitation was led by Mufti Fazal Rahman, and the event’s secretarial duties were performed by key provincial party officials. A mass protest and rally have been scheduled for July 25 in Ziarat to further highlight these issues.

The jirga concluded with a prayer led by Maulana Sahibzada Mohibullah.
