Quetta: Banul Baloch, a scholar associated with the Balochistan Study Center at the University of Balochistan, Quetta, has successfully completed her PhD in Balochi Language and Literature. Hailing from Turbat, her research provided a novel critical perspective by linking Balochi folk poetry with the folk traditions of other Pakistani languages.
Her dissertation, titled “Aesthetic and Thematic Comparison of Balochi Folk Poetry and Selected Pakistani Languages’ Folk Poetry,” received widespread acclaim in academic circles. The defense and oral examination panel included Professor Dr. Ghulam Farooq, Dr. Najia Israr Zaidi, Dr. Abdul Shakoor Zahid, and Dr. Surya Bano.
Along with her academic achievement, Banul Baloch’s literary and intellectual contributions to the promotion of Balochi literature have been highly appreciated. Experts have recognized her as a representative scholar of the new generation committed to advancing the Balochi language.
