Press Statement:
Under the auspices of the Balochistan Health Department, a one-day consultative workshop was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Health Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai to determine the future direction of the health sector. The important workshop was attended by senior officials from the health department, healthcare experts, and representatives of related institutions. Participants included Dr. Ahmed Wali, Director Admin of Balochistan Health Card, Dr. Shuko Mangal, and Professor Dr. Raz Muhammad Kakr.

Speaking at the workshop, Secretary Health Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakr, significant and notable reforms have been introduced in the health department, whose positive effects are being seen throughout the province. He said the Government of Balochistan has established a comprehensive system to provide standard and free emergency treatment facilities in all government hospitals across the province, benefiting the general public.

The Secretary further said that, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), a long-term reform agenda is being introduced in Balochistan’s health system. The aim is not only to address current challenges but also to ensure sustainable and improved healthcare services for the people in the future. The ten-year Health Sector Plan will serve as a milestone in achieving this goal.

Addressing the workshop, Dr. Ahmed Wali, Director Admin of Balochistan Health Card, said that collaborative efforts by the Government of Balochistan, the Health Department, and WHO are bringing significant changes to medical facilities in both small and large hospitals across the province. These reforms are expected to have far-reaching impacts. He added that this project will be a precursor to revolutionary changes in the public health sector, providing quality medical services to citizens and strengthening the province’s health system.

During the workshop, health experts presented recommendations and suggestions, which are being considered for inclusion in the upcoming ten-year planning. At the conclusion of the workshop, a firm commitment was made that the Balochistan Health Department and its partner institutions will continue striving for the successful realization of this public service mission.
