
Quetta, Pakistan (PR)– In a significant development for regional air travel, Quetta International Airport proudly welcomed the inaugural direct passenger flight by Iran Air to Zahedan late Thursday night. This historic milestone strengthens air connectivity between Pakistan and Iran, promising increased travel, trade, and cultural ties.
The launch event was attended by distinguished guests including the Iranian Consul General, the Airport Manager, senior security officials from the Civil Aviation Authority and Airport Security Force (ASF), along with representatives from the local chamber of commerce.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, Iran Air flight IR-824 departed Quetta at 11:30 PM, carrying 75 passengers bound for Zahedan. Earlier that evening, the inaugural return flight from Zahedan landed at Quetta International Airport at 9:15 PM, officially marking the commencement of this new route.
Iran Air confirmed that the new Quetta-Zahedan service will operate weekly, every Thursday, providing a convenient and direct travel option for passengers. Officials expressed optimism that this route will foster stronger cross-border connectivity, enhance bilateral trade opportunities, and encourage cultural exchange between the two nations.
This new air link marks a promising step forward in enhancing regional cooperation and connectivity in South Asia and the Middle East.
