Quetta : The Core Committee of the Balochistan Grand Alliance held a meeting chaired by Organizer Professor Abdul Quddus Kakr, attended by heads of affiliated organizations. During the meeting, Professor Abdul Quddus Kakr provided a detailed briefing on the progress made so far between the government committee and the Grand Alliance committee concerning the Alliance’s charter of demands, particularly regarding the increase in salaries of Balochistan employees under a DHA-like framework at the federal level.
After thorough discussion on all matters, the participants made the following unanimous decisions:
The progress made so far with the government committee was deemed encouraging.
The Balochistan Grand Alliance seeks to resolve all issues through dialogue but will not compromise on the legitimate rights of employees.
Strong dissatisfaction was expressed over the delays in implementing the committee’s recommendations, caused mainly by the unavoidable private commitments of the committee chairman, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, leading to his absence from Quetta. Therefore, it was unanimously decided to wait for the chairman’s return.
Various committees were formed to handle other Alliance demands and organizational financial matters.
Employees were instructed to be mentally prepared for all forms of protest and a strict course of action in case of a deadlock with the government.
The Balochistan Grand Alliance fully supports the genuine demands of the Young Doctors Association (YDA).
Furthermore, it was clarified that the protest by the Balochistan Grand Alliance has only been postponed, not ended, and the Alliance was established not only to achieve the DHA but also to address existential threats faced by the employees of Balochistan. Much work remains ahead.
All districts are urged to strengthen their organization of the Balochistan Grand Alliance at the district level, calling joint meetings, addressing shortcomings of previous protests, paying special attention to realignment of the Alliance, and speeding up communication with employees to keep them fully informed of the situation.
