The 20th Syndicate Meeting of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Malik Tareen. The meeting was attended by Secretary Government of Balochistan Colleges Higher and Technical Education Department Saleh Muhammad Baloch, Finance Department Advisor Bashir Ahmed, LUMS Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ilahi Bakhsh Marghzani, Registrar Professor Dr. Ahmad Nawaz Khosa, Deans of various faculties, Associate Professors, Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Director QEC, Controller of Examinations, Director of University College Dera Murad Jamali, and Deputy Registrar Academics.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the meeting on ongoing degree programs, scholarships, development projects, memorandums of understanding signed with national and international universities, and details of the university’s sub-campuses. Recommendations of the Academic Council and Finance and Planning Committee were discussed in detail.
The members extensively deliberated on all recommendations. The Academic Council’s recommendations, including approval of new degree programs, Higher Education Commission’s new policies, and revised syllabi, were approved. The Finance and Planning Committee’s suggestions were reviewed, and the university’s estimated expenses for the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26 along with other financial matters were approved. Employee-related policies and matters were also discussed and approved.
The members praised the steps taken towards academic and financial management and sustainable development of the university.
